Dear Brethren,

MEDITATION
9  And to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the
beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;
Ephesians 3:9

OBSERVATION AND INTERPRETATION

1. Paul’s lifelong commitment (General)

a) To be God’s servant
b) To be faithful

2. His lifelong commitment (specific)

a) To help all to see

i) The deeper things of God
ii) To understand the “mystery of God”
iii) This is a reference to deep knowledge

b) The fellowship

i) Fellowship is not just chatting with people
ii) Fellowship of then deeper kind involves understanding deep truths and sharing them
iii) This kind of deep fellowship is very hard to find!

3. The hidden mysteries

a) God had hidden them
b) Mankind had not been ready to have these mysteries revealed
c) Paul desired to teach these deep things

4. Hidden in Christ the Lord

a) All the hidden knowledge of God can be discovered
b) They are all hidden in the Lord Jesus

EXAMPLES OF WHAT MAY BE FOUND IN THE LORD JESUS

1. Father-Son relationship John 5:19-20
2. Life-giving power John 5:21
3. Judgment John 5:22
4. Everlasting life John 5:24

APPLICATION TO LIFE AND MINISTRY

1. Knowledge of God

a) This must be pursued
b) We will understand God better through knowledge of the Lord Jesus

2. Find Life

a) Life on earth
b) Eternal life
c) Abundant life

These are to be found in the Lord Jesus too

3. Life-long commitment

a) Let us follow the example of the apostle Paul
b) Let us be deeply committed to teaching deep truths
c) But first, we must discover these great truths first!
